On December 23, International College Alumni Homecoming Day Activity  was held as scheduled at the Zhangzhou campus. Nearly a hundred alumni from Xiamen and surrounding areas gathered with their families in Zhangzhou, reliving cherished moments, reminiscing about the past friendships, and planning for a new chapter of development.

Accompanied by a heartwarming retrospective short film of their youth, the alumni forum and exchange meeting were held in the multifunctional hall 101 of No.4 main building. The meeting was presided over by Zhou Lei, the Chair of International College (IC) Council. Professor Tao Tao, dean of IC delivered a speech on behalf of the college. He warmly welcomed and greeted the alumni, acknowledging their achievements in various fields. Reflecting on the college's history, talent cultivation, faculty, and collaborations with partner institutions, he presented the fruitful results achieved in recent years. He pointed out that under the leadership of Xiamen University, IC has consistently adhered to the educational philosophy of “drawing on the strengths of both Eastern and Western education to cultivate international talents”. Focused on the fundamental task of moral and intellectual development, IC centers on comprehensive education, emphasizing educational and teaching quality, and strives to cultivate talents for the nation. IC currently ranks at the forefront in terms of both scale and quality of talent cultivation among similar institutions.

In 2025, International College will celebrate its 20th anniversary since its establishment. Standing at a new starting point, Dean Tao expressed that the college will closely align itself with Xiamen University's goal of “building a world-class university in step with the times”. With a broader perspective, forward-thinking strategies, and solid work, the college aims to embrace new challenges and strive for unprecedented high-quality development. He hopes that alumni, together with the faculty and students of the college, can contribute their collective wisdom and efforts, providing suggestions for the development of the college. By working together, they can actively contribute to the flourishing development of the university, the college, and alumni affairs.

Fang Yuan, the alumni representative from the Class of 2007, recalled the delightful moments of their campus life, shared their growth experiences studying in the UK and returning to work in China after graduation. She expressed sincere blessings and gratitude to the alma mater, encouraging fellow alumni to adapt actively to the domestic social environment and developmental trends. Fang Yuan encouraged everyone to continuously improve their comprehensive qualities and moral cultivation, unleash their full potential, and leverage their strengths to contribute to the prosperity and strength of the nation.

Representing the Class of 2022, student representative Hu Kaidi shared her growth and achievements in International College, expressing gratitude to her seniors. As a young generation, she vowed to catch up with the seniors and uphold the spirit of aspiration through practical actions.

During the discussion and exchange, the alumni spoke enthusiastically, shared their fond memories of the college and their career experiences after graduation, and put forward valuable opinions and suggestions on the construction and development of the school, the college and the upcoming new alumni Association.

This activity facilitated communication between alumni and the alma mater, as well as among alumni themselves, fostering stronger bonds. Alumni not only gained insights into the latest developments of their alma mater but also ignited a passion to contribute to the high-quality development of the college. They expressed their commitment to working together, strengthening connections, and collectively promoting collaborative innovation and mutually beneficial development between alumni and the college.
